South West SEAL Action Research Project Stage 1: Planning and preparation

How does ICT contribute better to the student appeal of the course

Planning and preparation: developing the course and providing the teacher with support:

Actions: Preparation (List actions as you identify them)

idenfity Moodle site
identify learning aims and objectives of course
identify methods of delivery and how course to be delivered
peruse manuals, exercise and documentation relevant to course
started working on timetable and planning course outline

Achievements (List them as they happen and when)

Start working with Moodle
idenfitied learning objectives and worked towards a course outline
identified manuals and exercises to use - beg steal or borrow assignments, manuals etc
update timetable to reflect changes in delivery

very much a trial and error approach - where initially i was not sure where to start. - had a stop start approach when new information came to light about how to approach this task, stop what i was doing to approach this new information

Evidence/Data Collection

Timetable? Sample content? Enrolments? E-mails? Publicity brochures? Photos?

Documentation -student documention relating to the course
welcome info - motivation
teacher information eg Rolls, audit documents , learner perspectives

THE LAST THOUGHT: Resolutions (If I were to do this again, at this stage I'd...)

do it in a step by step process
initally look at previous face to face course and see what was required to get this course operational
look at assessments and tools for the course that are readily available and concentrate on getting them into an online format
